I Don’t Have Enough Enemies

DISCLAIMER! I speak to the rooted and faithful Saints.

Hey! I do hope we’re all standing for holiness and pleasing the Lord. Anyway let’s get to it.

I’ve always had a few people I call close friends, along with a larger outer circle of people I’m in regular contact with that I loosely call friends. Since I got saved I’ve had a lot of those people quickly turn (and still turning) into distant strangers for reasons I still don’t know and some beyond my understanding. Of course this perplexed me, but I have come to find comfort in the word of God. The Bible says in the book of John chapter 15:19, and this has become one of my most favorite verses, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” The moment you begin to dive deeper into God in seeking more of him I guarantee you, you will find that some people’s attitude towards you will change. Some will become distant and hostile, others will cut you off. On your journey to purpose it is absolutely imperative who is in your life. The reasons won’t make sense to you “You a gwan like you better than people”, “You a gwan like yuh holier than everybody else”, “A musi you alone Jesus dead fah” all kinds of nonsense they’ll tell you but don’t be disheartened by those you lose or those who walk away; God is cleaning up, trust Him.

When you were at the same place they were, basking in the pleasures of sin, going to parties, behaving raucously, spewing expletives, gossiping and slandering others, they were with you. Why? You were like them, so the world loved his own. But the moment you decide to take that turn of repentance and change your life. The moment you step out of the world and REALLY start living for God. The moment you begin to behave like the prince or princess that your father the King says you are, and become set apart, people will begin to treat you like you’ve committed a grave crime. But guess what, someone you care very much about may decide to disassociate them-self from you, but don’t allow the world’s response to your decision to walk wholly and upright for the Lord to shift your focus! The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 6:17, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” I don’t know about you but that’s what the word says and as a Child of God I live by the word! So if the word says I must come from among them and be separate and he will receive me, I am going to do just that! [This by no means must be interpreted to mean malice, the word of God DOES NOT contradict itself.] I prefer to be rejected by the world and received by the Most High God!!! Romans 12:2 speaks volumes! It says “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” I want nothing but to fulfill the purpose that the Lord created me for! I want nothing but for the ‘good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God’ to be proved in my life! Therefore, I’m not only going to recognize and recite what the scripture says, but I’m going to apply it! Proverbs 1:15 reiterates: “…walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path!!!” Remember saints, we’re in the world but we’re not of it: John 17:16 “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” I refuse to be identified with worldly things thus I’m going to behave like who I am in Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 profoundly says “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…”

If you’re living right people will be made uncomfortable in your presence and by your ways. They will have issues with you. They will slander and speak wrongfully against you: 2 Timothy 3:12 “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” The word doesn’t say may, it says shall. It’s a must! If you really are living like the Lord would have it, persecution will come in all different forms so saints don’t be surprised by these things. 1 John 3:13 says “Do not marvel my brethren, if the world hates you.”[šŸ˜± I’m sorry but I’m in awe of the word of God! Whooooo!!! Ok back to it]. We are humans, we do have feelings and you may at times be saddened that you have become a stranger to someone you were once close to, and God knows it may cut you up [a me fi tell yuh] but don’t allow these feelings to dampen your spirit, a dampened spirit is a major hindrance to worship, I have been there. Be reminded that your purpose is to serve the Lord and not man. As such, If we’re called to holiness, be ye holy for He is holy (1 Pet 1:16), and if we were called to perfection then be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48), NO MATTER WHAT. James 4:4. “…know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” I choose being an enemy of the world any day, over being an enemy of God. Don’t be disheartened by what you’ve lost, God knows what He’s doing. Be faithful! Be rooted! Be steadfast! Serve the Lord wholeheartedly.

P.S. Many have poisoned their minds to believe perfection in Christ is unattainable and therefore have become a slave to sin through compromise; the excuse that I’m human. It’s time we stop with the excuses and begin to proclaim that the word commands me to be holy so I cannot and will not slander my sister etc. IT IS HARD BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

  1. Well this was a great read….. (grab prayer book and pen) Having me writing these scriptures down lol. It’s inspiring (have a lot of work to get there….. But im willing). Keep pressing my sister.

  2. This that you are doing is in essence what the Lord requires of us: To go into all the world and preach the Gospel. As I read this, I felt the power of God. This is a good medium to preach Christ. Don’t stop! I pray your strength in Jesus’ name

  3. Well said. People come n go. Sad reality but God, His truth and His promises stand forever. No matter how difficult, we have2 let go of people who r stumbling blocks or continually ask why we take being a christian ‘so seriously?’ And those who are blatantly unsupportive of our faith. Step outside of and not be apart of the norm existing around us..Press on 4 the Lord..thanks4 sharing.
